Soho Farmhouse is a 100-acre estate and members’ club, set in the Oxfordshire countryside, located just outside of Chipping Norton. The site comprises of 40 log cabins spread around lakes, as well as the main Farmhouse and cottage, pools, a gym, Cowshed spa, tennis courts, cinema and paddock.

The Role...

To translate the concept and ideals of Blake’s Kitchen into a successfully operating restaurant, kitchen and bakery. To assume overall responsibility for the smooth running of the whole kitchen (including bakery) and the implementation, evolution and ongoing improvement of standards and profitability.

To achieve the highest food standards in order to exceed both customer and staff expectations.

Main responsibilities:

  • To demonstrate the Blake’s Kitchen ideal by ensuring the kitchen set up, running and closedown consistently meets the required high
  • To lead by example, ensuring that all kitchen staff are proactive, organised, ready for servic
  • To ensure quality is monitored and consistently delivered through observation, attention to detail and interaction with staff.
  • To hold overall responsibility for staffing levels, keeping them in line with business trends whilst maintaining the highest standards of performance & quality
  • To ensure that Sous Chefs and Bakers are up to date at all times on new menus, dishes and processes.
  • To maximise all sales opportunities within the business, delivering agreed sales and volume targets
  • To lead product development, creating new dishes and menus whilst ensuring that recipes are being followed by the team and are being updated at all times.
  • To gain a full understanding of the profit and loss account
