We are looking for a Pastry Chef (Chef Pastelero) for our new opening of a Pan-Asian restaurant fine dining, ATTIKO in Lisboa, responsible for operating the pastry section of the kitchen while working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
Main responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen.
- Prepares a wide variety of goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, etc. following standard restaurant recipes.
- Develop, design and create new ideas and items for pastry kitchen.
- Create new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers.
- Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
- Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.
- Monitor stocks of baking ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget.
Qualifications
- Culinary Arts Diploma or similar degree.
- Minimum 2 years as Pastry Chef in restaurants/hotels.
- Good knowledge of different types of pastries, desserts and techniques.
- Fluent in Portuguese and communications skills in English
- Excellent knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and Sanitation.
- Ability to maintain high quality control standard.
- Highly cooperative team spirit.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to lead by example in a multicultural environment
- Problem-solving skills.
