The Arts Club Dubai is perfectly located in the heart of the DIFC, set over four floors and totaling 65,000 square feet, in the brand-new ICD Brookfield Place development designed by Foster + Partners.

It is the first international outpost of the celebrated and historical private members’ club, established in 1863 in Mayfair, London. The Club’s membership is a growing community of like-minded, diverse and dynamic people, all hailing from different cultures and sectors, from the region and further afield.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Your main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Manage and lead wine and sake sales and revenue for the entire restaurant beverages operation, whilst motivating and driving the wine and sake team and Front of House in a positive manner
  • Manage beverage cost and targeted gross profit as per targets outlined, by estimating consumption, forecasting requirements and maintaining inventory
  • Minimize costs and maximize profits by securing the best possible cost prices and to keep in line with the pricing structure as outlined by the company
  • Plan new and update existing wine menus working closely with the Operation Manager, and constantly seek possibilities for developing the wine and sake list
  • Monitor operations for any events and private rooms
  • Control and manage stock, wine and sake orders, listings, par levels, corked wines, wastages and comps
  • Manage all wine and sake administration with the wine and sake team so that all is well organized and up to date
  • Review and analyze sales to ensure stock rotation and profitability remains within targets
  • Source wines and sake, and establish a strong relationship with key suppliers and manage them effectively by, negotiating best possible prices and stock allocation
  • Ensure all menus in circulation are updated and in good condition
  • Constantly review guest and management feedback and implement corrective action if needed to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently to customer questions and wine or sake complaints
  • Assist members and guests with their wine or sake selection, pair and suggest wines that will complement the menu items, and serve wines and sake according to the Standard of Performance manual
  • Pass information which is beneficial to the team so that the ‘Member Profile’ can be maintained in relation to favorite wines, vintages and sake
  • Responsible for your own development e.g. attend wine/sake trainings and events, and develop new relationships with vendors
  • Organize and supervise shifts and holiday planner
  • Take active part as Hiring Manager in selection and recruitment of colleagues for positions in the respective area of responsibility and assure diversification in the workforce maintaining brand fit and complying with the company selection process
  • Conduct the appropriate pre-employment testing, checks and assessments
  • Ensure adequate training of all colleagues prior to being employed in area/positions which directly affects members’ satisfaction, revenues / profits, Brand / Company image and safety and security
  • Manage and lead colleagues by example, and nurture a positive working environment 


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in same or similar role in luxury hotels or restaurant
  • Excellent level of English, written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of Food and Beverage products, trends and services
  • Have strong organisational and time management skills with a high degree of flexibility
  • Excellent team management, communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrate integrity in all dealings and maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Have the ability to drive initiatives to increase brand loyalty
  • Ability to work long shifts and stand for the extended period of time
