Food and Beverage Coordinator

This position’s core responsibility is to provide support to the Director of Food and Beverage and the Food and Beverage leadership team. In addition, this position ensures that there is effective and efficient flow of work towards the goals and overall objectives of the Food and Beverage department. There will be daily interactions with Director of Food and Beverage and the Food and Beverage leadership team.  There will also be communication with guests, business partners, key suppliers, and miscellaneous incoming telephone contacts.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide administrative support with duties including: calendar management, filing systems, meeting minutes, correspondence, expense reporting, telephone reception, mail preparation, and responding to emails
  • Responsible for inputting and submitting of bi-weekly payroll
  • Responsible for formatting and printing of all restaurant menus
  • Creating and distributing the weekly dining hours of operation
  • Field general inquiries and direct information to appropriate F&B leaders
  • Prepare Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports as required (i.e. quarterly competitive analysis of  menus, monthly accrual report)
  • Respond to any and all inquiries from guests including TripAdvisor reviews and Guest Centre (Open Table) comments
  • Update websites using Word Press
  • Booking and coordinating entertainment for the restaurants
  • Track monthly Purchases and review monthly GL to ensure all expenses are accounted for
  • Co-ordinate with other departments within the hotel to ensure the distribution of pertinent information and maintain an orderly working environment
  • Work closely with the Food and Beverage team and with other team members in Conventions, Guest Services and throughout the hotel
  • Provide support for the Food and Beverage Tour Coordinator and Dining Reservations Desk when necessary
  • Assist with Social Media Marketing for Restaurants
  • Assist with general coverage of the Executive offices
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
  • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Two years of strong hotel experience required
  • Knowledge of Word & Excel computer systems is required; Guest Center (Open Table) Property Manager, Microsoft Office
  • Adobe InDesign or Publisher is an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-motivated and able to make decisions in a fast paced work environment
  • Able to work well under pressure, take initiative, and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be well organized and have excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent time management and multi-tasking skills an asset
  • Confident, well groomed, pleasant telephone / personal disposition
  • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to consistently stand, walk or sit through out shift
