Food Runner/Utility

As a Food Runner/Utility with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Hotel Overview: Known as the islands only all-suite oceanfront resort, the hotel is situated on Polo Beach in the world-class, master-planned destination of Wailea, on the south western coast of Maui.Here's an opportunity to join Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, a luxury hotel brand recognized worldwide for distinctive style and service.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Ama Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Assist servers in proper garnishing of all menu items and delivery to appropriate guests
  • Assist guest regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Stewarding duties within the outlet 
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Actively support all green initiatives 
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Valid State of Hawaii liquor card is required
  • Must be able to adhere to the State of Hawaii food handling safety standards 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
