Hotel Overview:

World-renowned, Fairmont San Francisco presents an awe-inspiring picture of historic San Francisco. The grandeur of the fully restored hotel coupled with its reputation for impeccable service promises a regal experience. Completed in April 2001, the $85 million restoration project is highlighted by the re-emergence of the Main Lobby as a grand public space, as well as the remodeling of all the guestrooms. A short cable car ride away from the Financial District, Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square, the majestic building houses 591 guest rooms complete with two restaurants and two lounges, ranging from casual to elegant. Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Front Office Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Greet, check in and settle guest accounts while ensuring all service standards are followed
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Previous customer related experience an asset
  • Previous PMS experience an asset
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
  • Must be able to type 25 words per minute
  • Must possess a professional presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Hospitality Diploma is an asset
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • Must have the ability to handle cash effectively and accurately

Physical Aspects of Position: Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements: Must have proof of eligibilty to work in the United States
