This position requires a well-organized and efficient lady or gentleman with good communication skills and excellent customer service skills. Must possess an outgoing personality, be highly energetic and be passionate with a “love of water”. Must be prepared to be outdoors in all weather, flexible as to interchange between work areas, guide watersports tours and, assist the guests in kayaking, snorkeling lessons, sailing and sailing instruction, and other recreational (land and sea based) activities. Must be 25+ years old with a clean driving license. The ideal candidate should have:
• Previous guest service skills in a luxury resort (preferred)
• Ability to work outside all day and during extreme weather conditions
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong team player
• Experience working with children (care, comfort and entertainment)
• CPR, First Aid and Waters Rescue skills/certification an asset
• Must be able to lift, pull or push items of up to 50 lbs.
• Must be a strong swimmer, with excellent waterman ship skills, preferably with CPR and rescue skills.
• Able to conduct sailing and kayaking lessons.
• Ability to assist in all areas of the pool and beach: chairs, cabanas, towels, volleyball competitions, beach games etc
Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests in all recreational activities and areas by expressing an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities, activities, lessons, and equipment. Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members. Oversee activity in the recreational facility, respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency, and provide assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services. Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures. Conduct inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment and inform supervisor/manager of low supply items. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect. Support team to reach common goals. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print). Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects). Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps. Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
