Responsible for Room Sales as counterpart of Proactive Sales Person.

Mandatory: Fluent English

The Sales Manager is responsible for direct actual distribution or movement of a product or service to the customer, and proactively soliciting and handling all revenue-related opportunities in a sales segment of ROOMS: Retails (NQ) on International Sales.
 Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity and achieving personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly.
Sales & Revenue Management
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote hotel and products.
  • Develop a full working / product knowledge of the operations of the hotel.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to include sales calls, entertainment etc. Conducts customer site inspections
  • Able to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections effectively and promote the hotel with giving the suggestion which is client’s taste to meet client’s needs and to maximize revenue.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies to meet or exceed set goals.
  • Focus on accounts with larger potential sales revenue.
  • Builds the department top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set forth by the Director of Sales.  Identifies revenue opportunities for the hotel based on the event profile.
  • Understand the competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demands etc.
  • Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
  • Comprehends budgets as needed to assist in the financial department. Understands the impact of department's role in the overall hotel financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Actively up-sell every business opportunity to maximize revenue and achieving personal / team’s goal.
  • Ensures the contracting/RFPs of the consortia programs are completed with accuracy reaching the deadlines.
  • Continuously auditing the consortia sites to maintain relevance, updated content, hotel features and images.
  • Makes presence in ensuring marketing features are elevated through promotion features, EDMs of Japan hotels/destination and special hotel marketing designated programs 
Guest Satisfaction
  • Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction and builds long terms mutually beneficial customer relationships to support future revenue growth.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations on entire sales process.
  • Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with clients regarding event details and to follows up with clients post-event.
  • Makes presence known to customer at all times during this process.  Greets customer during the event phase and hands-off to the catering & conference services department for the execution of details. Is available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with clients in charge and discover personal information of them, and utilize it. (Visit clients on his/her surprise WOW Factor etc.)
  • Reviews operational records and guest satisfaction results with others and participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plan to determine future possibilities.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.
  • Analyze sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of clients.
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality and ensures consistent, high level service throughout sales process. Ensures products and services meet or exceed clients’ expectations, effectively responds to and handles client’s problems and complaints to create loyalty and leads to increased market share.
  • Direct coordinators to keep records of export correspondence, bid requests, and to maintain current information on tariffs, licenses, and restrictions.
  • Supervise coordinators/Reservation and ensure timely completion of all activities of your tasks.
  • Establish training programs / sessions for sales coordinators to make sales operations smooth.
  • Hold self and others accountable for achieving results to contribute to team results.
  • Communicate well and explain own rationale and thought processes to help employees improve their skills.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for professional improvement.
  • Successfully  complete and pass Sales Audit for STARS, AMEX FHR & Signature Mystery shopper Audit.

  • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and S.O.P.’s, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
