About you

The Royal Automobile Club are currently seeking a Laundry Assistant to join the Housekeeping team in our Epsom clubhouse on a part time basis for 30 hours per week. Committed to delivering the highest level of service and standards we are looking for candidates that share that commitment.

  • Language required: English.

The company

The Royal Automobile Club is one of the world’s foremost private members’ clubs. Offering first-class facilities across two distinctly different clubhouses, it was built on the foundation of being the United Kingdom’s oldest motoring organisation.

We are here to celebrate and inspire progress. If you are looking for recognition for your skills and the chance to explore your full potential, you have come to the right place.
This is no ordinary private members’ club.

Join our teams at London’s Pall Mall clubhouse or the rolling countryside of Woodcote Park in Epsom. You might find yourself helping to squeeze a Bugatti Veyron through Pall Mall’s famous revolving doors or dodging a LeMans-winning Porsche as it blasts past one of two golf courses at Woodcote Park.

Our Values:
We are one club, with one team, seeking to achieve one standard of excellence across two clubhouses. All this passion can be summed up in the word HEART; Heritage, Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Trust. These are the values that flow through our veins. More importantly, they are the values we will expect you to live by.

Heritage
Did you know Sir Winston Churchill particularly enjoyed the swimming pool at Pall Mall, with its mosaic columns, white Sicilian marble walls and bronze balconies? Whatever our role at the Club, we all share in conserving its heritage – motoring, social, sporting and architectural – carrying on its remarkable traditions while using the past to enliven and inspire the present.

Excellence
Excellence is something we strive for every day. It is the next five minutes. It is a television remote precisely placed on a bedside table, a cup of tea delivered without delay and the courtesy of your undivided attention. Focus and devotion to detail are paramount. Moment to moment, your commitment to excellence makes all the difference and creates memories which last a lifetime.

Accountability
We pride ourselves on our team approach, with all of us performing our own important part. This means accepting personal responsibility for exceeding members’ expectations, taking ownership of our work, acting with integrity and admitting and learning from our mistakes. It also means putting team achievement above personal goals – safe in the knowledge that the team will look after you.

Respect
The Club has always enjoyed a reputation for mutual tolerance and consideration. Respect is our watchword. It is listening properly to members and colleagues alike, treating them with professional courtesy at all times. It is understanding the importance of rules, boundaries and timekeeping, while retaining the flexibility to acknowledge other people’s expertise or extra input.

Trust
Every role is a position of trust. You are entrusted with protecting and furthering our proud tradition. You are entrusted with representing the Club and all its values. You are entrusted with developing yourself and your team. This level of trust has to be earned; by doing what you say you’ll do, acting fairly, keeping confidences, providing honest feedback and positively receiving feedback.

If you can live these values, you will see your efforts recognised. Your potential will be nurtured in an organisation full of individuals who have come up through the ranks, learned new skills or taken their careers in a surprising direction.

Pall Mall:
The Pall Mall clubhouse, set in the heart of the St James’s area of London, provides a welcoming sanctuary from the bustle of the capital city. It runs a premium choice of restaurants and bars, a unique range of accommodation, private dining and sporting facilities, as well one of the finest swimming pools in London.

Woodcote Park:
The Woodcote Park clubhouse and estate is set in 350 acres of scenic Surrey Downs countryside. The clubhouse features two 18-hole golf courses, four squash courts, six floodlit tennis courts, a modern gym, an indoor swimming pool, treatment rooms, restaurants, bars and accommodation.
