Position : Director of Revenue Management

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Director of Revenue Management is responsible for driving incremental revenue and profit for the hotel using a rational, disciplined decision-making process while managing risk under current and anticipated market conditions. 

• Maximises total revenue contribution through a thorough understanding of all booking channels and management of inventory and rate therein.
• Assesses, evaluates and implements revenue generation strategies to ensure the maximisation of revenue.
• Presents recommendations on future sell strategies and tactical activities
• Communicates the revenue generations strategies to all revenue management department
• Executes tactics and strategies as collectively agreed
• Manages the market mix on bedroom inventory
• Reviews individual, group room rate and conference room pricing to ensure they reflect the market conditions and competitive environment.
• Implements and maintains the hotel Revenue Management system.
• Utilises and integrates all available tools and systems in all revenue generating departments to maximise revenue earning capability.
• Evaluates channel delivery and takes deliberate actions to influence the optimum delivery through each channel.
• Determines hotel pricing policy in conjunction with each specialist head of department.
• Ensures implementation of group ceilings that fluctuate with forecast demand and are loaded into Opera Sales & Catering.
• Reviews and approves all group and catering requests outside of the specified guidelines.
• In cooperation with the Hotel Manager, Financial Controller and the DOSM, revises room rates and prepares annual Budgets.
• Oversees the configuration of the hotel’s Property Management System.
• Is ultimately responsible for all rates and their loading into CRS, IBE, PMS and OTA channels.
• Is ultimately responsible for all rooms and event contracting, ensuring contractual terms and payments are sufficient to protect revenue collection.
• In cooperation with the DOSM develops and implements alternative revenue generating programs.
• Sets strategy for overbooking during demand periods.
• Investigate and communicate new ways to capture optimal revenue potentials.
• Analyzes lost business report and actions upon
• Ensures implementation of demand-planning calendars for Rooms and Catering.
• Shops competitors regularly for future strategy.
• Assist in the recruitment, training and development of hotel Revenue Management staff, with particular emphasis on developing and retaining individuals with potential.
• Provide training and support for all revenue generating departments data quality to improve collection of customer information
• Sets goals for the revenue management team and communicates performance results
• Determines qualifications and profile of staff within his department and is consulted on personal issues within all revenue producing departments.
• Facilitates the weekly “RevPRO” meetings.
• Conducts Rooms and Catering yield meetings.
• Ensures that revenue management teams comply with FIT Marketing techniques and maximizes sales.
• Produces reports as required.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment in accordance to health regulations and the hotel’s health and safety program.
• Adhere to all Fairmont Environmental policies and procedures.


What are we looking for?

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Director of Revenue Management is responsible for coordinating, directing and motivating all available resources to maximise the total revenue performance of the hotel.

Although the role requires extensive data analysis, its primary function is to “manage” - lead and motivate - all hotel resources to impact positively the hotel overall revenue performance. This will be done through the conversion of data from reports into business intelligence to allow all departments to optimise revenue.
