The Disney Technology Solutions and Services (DTSS) organization provides scalable, reliable enterprise-wide networks and computing platforms to all of the Disney businesses through integrated service aggregation from multiple internal and external providers. DTSS is guided by the principles of being service focused and easy to do business with, being biased for action and innovation, and being efficient through leverage and continuous improvement.
DTSS Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance team whose mission is to provide a scalable and accessible data ecosystem which brings Disney closer to the consumer, increases efficiency and enables the business to transform data into value.
You will have the opportunity to be part of a team responsible for Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance, supporting our Corporate and Segment business lines, including Networks (ABC and ESPN,) Studios (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, LucasFilm,) Parks & Resorts and Disney Consumer Products & Interactive.
As a Program Manager, you will facilitate enterprise data governance systems (people, tools, process) across a variety of domains including but not limited to Intellectual Property, Product and/or Consumer. This position works closely with the Product Owner, Executive Owner, Segment and Corporate (business and technical delivery teams.) Responsibilities
  • Develops the operational plan with the Product Owner/Manager including realistic timelines, budget and resources planning, risk assessment and contingency planning.
  • Ensures cross-functional alignment and organizational support for the execution of the operational plan by facilitating internal and external stakeholder meetings. Including but not limited to Product Owners, Product Managers, Data governance stewards, technical leads, developers, consultants and QA engineers
  • Manages prioritization of program team activities to enhance program value.
  • Defines and tracks KPIs to measure Program/Project progress
  • Acts as representative for the program internally and externally, supporting the Product Manager, Executive and Product Owner communications.
  • Responsible for comprehensiveness and quality of program information and communication to Senior Management
  • Expected to identify bottlenecks, surface issues, and proactively drive for their resolution. Leads contingency planning efforts.
  • Leads ad-hoc cross-functional meetings as needed for issue resolution and/or organization efficiency improvements
  • Accountable for accurate forecasting, tracking and adherence to program budget . Understand and articulate challenges, assumptions, timelines and expenses across the projects and at the program level.
  • Manages project variance and root cause analysis, develops risk mitigation / issue management plans with the objective to meet the financial targets.
  • Ensures quality, timeliness and accuracy of all program specific planning data (headcount, external costs, timelines)
  • Ensures effective, proactive and open communications, horizontally and vertically, in order to achieve
Basic Qualifications
  • 8-10+ Years in Program Management roles for large/enterprise software companies including financial, technical and business stakeholder executive facilitation
  • Proven experience in managing complex technical projects (complex in terms of the number of stakeholders, application and implementation are simple)
  • At least 8 yrs. multi-/ cross-functional leadership experience
  • 5+ Years in data platform, application and/or analytics development
  • Business and Technical Project Management
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; strong writing and speaking skills
  • Track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation
  • Understands financial aspects, including knowledge of resource planning (headcount and budget) and management
  • Excellent cross-functional team and relationship building skills
  • Expert planning and tracking skills, able to see big picture, well- organized, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects, excellent time management with respect to priorities and self-management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for bridging between scientific and business participants, for negotiating timelines and for effective collaboration.

  • Preferred experience with Data governance and/or MDM
  • Advanced leadership skills- ability to mentor and train delegates and/or matrix project management resources
Required Education
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience in Program/Portfolio Management

The DTSS web operations teams focus on Servers & Hosting and Network Connectivity. DTSS teams are located in Seattle, Bristol, N. Hollywood, Glendale, New York, Burbank, and Orlando.
