ENGINEER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the technical installations of the ship; Close cooperation with the Captain and the technical department
Your Responsibilities
Security
- Joint responsibility for the safety equipment on board the ship
- Compliance with the guidelines, instructions (nautical manual) and regulations
- Checking the safety equipment during every safety drill
Administration, Communication
- Responsible for the administrative process and timely submission of all reports
- Exchange information with the parties involved (Captain, HOM, operations, engineering)
- Update the MXP program in collaboration with the Captain or 1st Officer on a daily basis
Special tasks
- Inspection of the ships’ technical installations at regular intervals
- Induction of new employees
- Participation in company meetings
- Participation in internal and external training courses and seminars
- Daily check of gas oil, ballast water and fresh water resources (consumables)
- Responsible for ordering spare parts, repair and other services using the company's own forms
- Responsible for the gas oil / lubricating oil bunkering
- Responsible for the safe disposal of waste oil, oily rags and filters
- Monitor the work performed by external service employees
- Report breaking news regarding repairs to the technical department
- Compliance with all national and international regulations
YOUR PROFILE
- Education
- Certificate of proficiency - Engineering
- Languages: German / English / possibly French
- Interested in further education (e.g. certificate extension, language skills)
- Independent and flexible
- Decisive and assertive
- Strong team worker and able to motivate the crew
- Shows ambition and initiative; perseverant
