Job description

Overall purpose of the Role :-
We are looking for a person to take charge of licensing for the Home category, which includes Furnishings, Furniture, Décor, Storage solutions, Tableware, Kitchenware and Infant products, for Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm franchises. The individual will be in charge of all existing partners and for expanding the presence into new sub-categories.
Responsibilities
Areas of Responsibility:
Individual contributor role that involves working closely with reporting manager and DCP Head to plan and execute the licensing strategy for the Home category.
Primary responsibility: Business planning, managing existing relationships, new business development
Secondary responsibility: Contract management, design direction and inputs, execution of marketing processes, ensuring compliances and processes
Revenue responsibility: Responsible for Earned Revenue (royalties) from the product licenses
Planning: Joint planning with business partners and internal management on product range, pricing strategy, distribution focus, design inputs and promotional initiatives. Plan, create and pitch to potential partners in line with the overall strategy.
Execution: Putting the plans into actions by breaking them into individual components and taking the lead on each with different teams within Disney and within the business partners’ organisation. This includes liaising with Legal teams for contract negotiation, Finance and Account teams for sales reports and payments and Product Development teams for product design.
Coordination: Ensuring quick and smooth execution through coordination with various stakeholders and with strict adherence to timelines. High level of initiative expected to manage and align conflicting viewpoints and priorities to ensure excellence in service delivery.
Review: Regularly review progress towards business goals with the partners as well as DCP management and plan ahead accordingly. Appraise the senior management on competition activities, potential business opportunities, plans for tapping those opportunities and challenges on the same.
Basic Qualifications Experience and Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in a client facing role, preferably in the FMCG/Durables industry. Preference to MBAs and those having Sales/Consulting experience.
Additional Information Skills and Competencies required:
- Should have had experience of working on various projects at one time and coordinating with more than one internal and external stakeholders.
- Should be sensitive to and quick in learning the various SOPs that need to be followed while executing the projects
- Key qualities: good negotiator, high level of initiative, team player
- Other qualities: good written and spoken communication, cross cultural sensitivity, diligence, time management, understanding of organisational dynamics
