Based in Singapore and reporting to the Executive Director, Marketing, this position is responsible for driving, planning and managing marketing strategies in partnership with Disney’s Media Networks clients in Southeast Asia. Disney’s content is currently distributed across a range of linear and digital platforms, including Pay TV, free-to-air, TVOD, SVOD, iTunes and Google. Our brands include Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Disney Channel Apps, Maker Studios, and covers content from Marvel, Star Wars, Mickey Mouse & Friends, Disney Princess, Disney Pixar and ABC Studios. Our core markets are Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
This role requires strong account management experience with a deep understanding of digital/social, through-the-line and on-ground experiential marketing. Especially critical is a strong understanding of what it takes to market non-linear digital content services. He/she will be responsible for creating a unique Disney difference for our clients and driving transactions, acquisitions, retention and apps installs. He/she will also conceptualize and deliver trade outreach and engagement initiatives, including trade events, trade publications, premiums and collaterals.
This candidate must be creative, strategic thinking and solutions-driven in order to ensure our campaigns deliver against set ROIs in brand and business. He/she must also be able to manage multiple internal & external stakeholders, including linear and digital carriers, local agencies, promotional partners and marketing teams from other lines of businesses. This candidate is expected to have a proven track record and relevant experience in one or more SEA markets. Attention to detail and a good eye for quality on-brand execution are absolutely critical. He/she will manage a team of executives to define our regional trade marketing plans.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include (but not limited) to the following:
  • Develop, drive and plan regional trade marketing campaigns across SEA in order to strengthen client relations and maximize media values on our partners’ platforms, including on-air, online, mobile, social and on-ground experiences.
  • Work with partners to develop Disney’s digital/social media strategy and increase reach and engagement.
  • Spearhead and negotiate Disney’s participation at trade events, and lead the execution of these events to deliver exceptional experience for our partners.
  • Manage regional trade marketing budgets in SEA.
  • Initiate subscriber acquisition and retention promotions to increase the distribution of Disney’s channel brands.
  • Pro-actively identify synergy opportunities with other Disney business units and offer them strategically to partners to add value to our marketing proposition.
  • Develop an effective trade relations program, which includes database management, sales kits, sales incentive programs, sales training and other trade engagement activities.
  • Craft the message and creative for Disney’s brands in trade publications.
  • Develop sales collaterals, premiums, POS materials and other marketing support materials.
  • Ensure the communication and application of brands through client platforms are well-executed and on-point.
  • Devise analytic and monitor performance for each campaign.
  • Regular travel in the SEA region will be necessary.
Basic Qualifications
  • A university degree/diploma holder.
  • Ideally with 8-12 years of marketing experience, preferably in a related industry.
  • Excellent communication & English language copy writing skills are essential.
  • Strong account servicing experience is essential, preferably direct experience in a media and broadcasting environment with established relations with trade partners.
  • A strong understanding of digital and social media marketing.
  • Experienced with leading and managing events.
  • A team player who can multi-task effectively and enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and working styles.
  • A self-starter who is organized, resourceful and able to take initiative.
  • Proficient in Keynote, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Good with macro and micro level project management in a matrix environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage different brands concurrently.
  • Good problem solving skills with the ability to work under time constraint.
  • Capable of examining issues from a broad perspective, considering impact beyond immediate scope.
  • Capable of staying current on business issues, industry trends and market advances.
