Job description

Disney Parks & Resorts Technology (DPRT) is an exciting and dynamic team that is responsible for creating the web presence for the entire spectrum of Walt Disney’s park & resort offerings.
As a Sr. Web Developer on DPRT Team, you will play an important role in defining the technology direction of the entire group. You will be responsible for helping lead the design and implementation of projects executed by the DPRT Team. This is a technical position that requires experience working with and developing against complex, large-scale websites. The ideal candidate will have expert-level skills in XHTML, JavaScript, nodeJS and AngularJS. Significant experience with an object oriented server-side scripting language such as PHP is also required. Critical thinking, documentation, communication, and pride in work are all skills critical to success in this role.
In addition to the necessary technical skills, you will also be expected to work closely with non-technical partners. These tasks include:
  • Proactively anticipating and responding to issues/questions about site issues.
  • Estimating the level of effort for new initiatives.
  • Communicating long-term technical strategies to the entire group.

#LI-LIC Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in the software development field
  • 4+ years technical experience building and maintaining web sites
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be judged on ability to work effectively with project teams. The position requires constant communication with colleagues and leadership.
  • Confidence and ability to perform effectively and make decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Expert level skills in XHTML, JavaScript, nodeJS and AngularJS
  • Strong knowledge of CSS
  • Strong PHP or similar technologies including Zend framework and LAMP
  • Reporting and site tracking experience
  • Proven ability to synthesize specific business requirements/goals into development deliverables
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented approach
  • eCommerce experience
  • Experience with Content Management Systems a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of web development, including XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, nodeJS, angularJS and PHP or similar scripting experience
  • Ability to use experience to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot issues
  • Technical project management experience a plus
  • SEO experience a plus
  • Experience deploying or using Omniture Site Catalyst, Visual Sciences HBX, Core Metrics, WebTrends Live, or similar site tracking tools a plus
  • Travel Industry and eCommerce experience a plus
