This is a salaried position which is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution and control of specific projects ensuring consistency with department strategy, commitments and goals. The Associate Project Manager manages and maintains responsibility throughout the project life cycle; drives progress on each project including initial planning, scope development, contracting, construction, and closeout; ensures the project documentation is processed efficiently; and is responsible for timely communication with business partners and leadership.

The Associate Project Manager manages and maintains responsibility throughout the project life cycle; drives progress on each project including initial planning, scope development, contracting, construction, and closeout; ensures the project documentation is processed efficiently; and is responsible for timely communication with business partners and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall project safety, obtaining final approval for a contractor submitted safety plan, and compliance with the project safety plan.
- Responsible for the development, planning, execution and closeout of all aspects of the portfolio of projects throughout the project life. Includes: project design, development, implementation, budget, cash flows, EFCs, maintenance of job files.
- Provides suggestions to lessen operational impact and negotiates with operators to implement the job in the most cost effective manner.
- Develops bid strategies with Procurement.
- Responsible for the project schedule, establishing critical path tasks to ensure proper man-loading requirements by contractors to achieve desired completion date.
- Foresees issues based on historical precedence and mitigates known risks.
- Responsible for coordinating operational constraints and job objectives concurrently to achieve a seamless implementation. Includes timely communication with business partners, clients and leadership regarding project status, schedule, financial and Guest impacts.
- Develops and conducts presentations to clients and executives.
- Responsible for timely issuance of field directives, obtaining costing concurrence memos, conversion to change orders, and obtaining management approval to allow for accurate EFC reporting and timely job closeout.
- Anticipates potential issues and communicates issues to multiple levels, able to coach and mentor an intern or direct report and identifies others’ strengths and development needs.
- At least four (4) years of experience in architecture, engineering or construction management
- Proven knowledge of construction methods and material
- Proven ability to interpret design drawings and specifications
- Proven knowledge of construction and project management processes, purchasing/contract management and accounting principles
- Demonstrated expertise in construction finance and business practices
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills (CMIS, Microsoft Office)
- Bachelors Degree from a 4-year college or university in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
- Masters Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration or Construction Management
