Working as a tutor involves drafting and structuring my own lessons aimed at improving reading, writing, grammar and critical thinking skills. I work closely with my mentee's parents in order to draft lesson plans that will cater to my student's particular struggles within the subject, ensuring their confidence and abilities will continue to progress. This role involves paying great attention to my own student's behaviour towards the subject, adapting the workload to their needs. In order to develop my student's skills outside of the tutoring lessons, I try to set them achievable goals to for them to partake in in their own personal time - encouraging their abilities to blossom independently. - plan and structure my own lesson plans - working closely with student and parents to implement the most beneficial teaching style - setting work for outside the classroom - flexible time scheduling (catering to my student's availability rather than my own)

This job role involves meeting with external organisations in order to produce joint events, liaising with University of Nottingham's Student Union to produce events that boast inclusivity, scouting and booking locations, organising entertainment, staff, alongside health and safety. It further involves drafting event budgets, and organising transport for the student body. Communication is a key part of this role, as it is important to acknowledge the interests of Nottingham's student body in order to organise events that cater to such. It is my responsibility to present my ideas and solutions to the Student Union within the planning process, whilst working with external organisations to arrange factors such as transport, external entertainment (such as DJs), or booking venues. This role requires extreme time management and organisational skills, as events can be highly unpredictable and thus one needs to be prepared for any circumstance. Planning ahead as to prepare for worst-case scenarios is vital. An example of the large scale events I plan would be night club events, Karnival works closely with Nottingham's Ocean club to host Winter Wonderland every year, catering to approximately 1200 students. Smaller scale events would be hosting a student pub quiz, or organising a puppy room with Guide Dogs UK. - liaising with external organisations - working with Nottingham's Student Union - scouting and booking locations - organising entertainment, staff, health and safety, cleaning - drafting and sticking to event budgeting - organising transport - present event plans in order to have them approved
