I am currently a freshman at Cornell University majoring in Hotel Administration. I am an International student from China; culture diversity and global mindedness are things I greatly value. I plan to study abroad in my junior year to a European country. In terms of academic interests, I am thinking of Finance and Consulting. Taking a minor in Psychology is also under my consideration.
Devoted to learn not only from class but also from hands-on experience, I work at the Statler Hotel as a Banquet Server. I have gained invaluable experience in team work and professional communication. It is worth mentioning that I am planning to apply for Hospitality Leadership Development Program. I am ready to take the challenge and handle a more demanding job with increased responsibility.
Having taken leadership positions in student clubs, I familiarize myself with coordination of team members to accomplish tasks. At the same time, working at Statler gives me an insight in cooperation and teamwork.

Shangri-La Hotel Suzhou - Suzhou, ChinaFront Office receptionJuly 2015 - August 2015
I interned at Shangri-La Hotel Suzhou in the summer of my junior year in high school. Taking the responsibility of a Guest Relation Officer, I learned to build connection with our guests to create the home away from home. I passed on my passion and hospitality to the guests through greetings and conversations. I also look over the Business Center, handling the preparation of daily reports and welcome cards for VIPs as well as weekly amenity reports. Furthermore, I took the initiative to learn how to use OPERA and helped the entry of check-in guest information.
