I am a student, currently in my third year at the Hotel Management School in Bellinzona, Switzerland.

More than 15-month work experience in 4 superior and 5-star luxury hotels in the F&B and FO departments in Switzerland and Germany and Greece. Working during high season periods in cities, mountain and sea locations, for companies with different types of corporate targets. Developing a good resistance to work under stress and a strong passion for making fantastic customer experiences.

Tasks: Helps to prepare all food elements (mise en place): Clean, wash, peal, cut, chop and cook vegetables and fruits. Prepare garnishes, cold sauces, soups, starters, desserts, salads, etc. Assists the Chef/Sous-Chef/Chef de Partie in all preparations. Composition, presentation and garnishing of dishes. Clear working environment. Ensure that all food items are conserved and hygiene procedures are followed. Clean the working area and kitchen utensils. Ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the kitchen. Order/Receive and control merchandise.

Students receive comprehensive training taking into account current and future requirements of the Swiss and international hospitality sector. The school theory classes—which comprise practical experience, case studies and seminars—and work placements allow future managers to acquire professional skills on a practical and intellectual level. SSAT graduates are creative experts capable of motivating staff and managing a hotel.
