I have a passion for the café culture/food development, it is something I have wanted to be involved in for some time. I like people (and that isn’t just a line!). I thrive off the atmosphere that a bustling café can give, bringing people from all walks of life. Also, cafes that can be that ‘third place’ for people if they have been busy at work or home.
I have worked my way up quickly due to my need for progression and creativity. I started learning Patisserie as it was an interest and took that as an entry into the industry. Then starting in Birmingham as a Kitchen Manager, which gave me the ability to put into practise my previous skills in business as well as managing people.
Now as an Admin & Marketing Manager I have been building structure for the business that I am in. It has given me opportunity to establish my knowledge of P&L reports, budget plans, KPI’s and HR.
On a very simple level, I would like to be honest and say I haven’t been able to stretch my creative muscles in my current position. I would like to see a business thrive on a larger scale and get involved in its expansion; as well as finding the best talents of the employees and using this to help establish the individuality of the brand.
Operational Management is something I am very interested in but am under no illusion that this is a simple position. The complexity of such a role is what I would like to get my teeth into, and in a company with great ambition.
I realise, very clearly, that this may all seem like the spiel that you give when you would like to be considered for positions.
