This is Gibum Hyun (Chris) currently on the final year at Glion Institute of Higher Education. I am mainly from Seoul, the capital city of Republic of Korea. I have grown up in a city centre for two decades in several countries including Republic of Korea and Canada. Moreover, I am currently in London, United Kingdom as an exchange student but mainly did my bachelors in Switzerland.
I have studied arts as well as regular studies which middle/high school students does, but since I knew ‘hospitality’ was a field of study it has changed my life. I realised when I make another person happy with my behaviour it brought myself the best feelings. This was the origin when I started my career as a hospitality pre-professional.
I spent one and a half year in Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, Switzerland and trained by experiencing practical classes in front office, food & beverage service and culinary, housekeeping operations during two semesters.
For my first internship, I have done in the most competitive country in the Asia Pacific, Hong Kong. I have worked with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) for 6 months as a Food & Beverage operational trainee. I was assigned to work in two different outlets which were an all-day dining restaurant and a Michelin starred casual dining restaurant.
Afterwards, I have attended military service in South Korea and I was lucky to be assigned as a Café Manager for around a year as well as working as an Administration & Operations Assistant under a social enterprise. I have experienced in all different kinds of tasks such as Events, Human Resources, Administration, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing and Customer Service. As the company was operated by approximately 7~9 full-time employees, It was a great opportunity to express my skills by supporting their business.
Please feel free to review my CV.
Thank you very much for your attention.
