At the Radisson Blu Hotel I had been offered a job at the front office after having completed a traineeship in various departments (restaurant, events, and conference department, operator and front office). Here, I was a front line ambassador of the hotel’s values and demonstrated these through competence and delivery of high standards including seamless check in and check out of guests. I gained accounting skills and demonstrated trustworthiness through the handling of an own cash box, administration of receipts, issuing and adjusting customer invoices and crediting discounts. Communication across departments to ensure colleagues were kept informed of recent developments and new or updated requests were part of my responsibilities. I further developed problem-solving skills and confidence with regard to handling complaints and enquires, and applied negotiation skills through strong up-selling techniques. I started at Magri Turismo as part of my dual training as a Trilingual Trader for Wholesale and Export. Upon completion I had been offered a job in the sales department taking responsibility for communication with international customers and travel agencies, sale of individual (bespoke) travel programmes and packages, pricing formation and management of client and resort databases. Here, I developed problem-solving, negotiation skills and time management through the organisation and often very reactive coordination of itineraries with customers and suppliers. I further ensured communication across departments to keep colleagues informed of recent developments.
