I am Madhur Rai, a pragmatic professional with 23+ years of experience in the Hospitality industry. A hotel management graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce; I have worked in various departments in hotels as well as restaurants ranging from Food & Beverage (Service), Room divisions, and Facility management key positions.
My first job assignment with hotels was as a Front Office Assistant/Club room host with The Hilton, New Delhi (The Lalit, New Delhi) in 1997 & have worked as an Executive Assistant Manager (E.A.M) with Sunlake Group of Hotels, Indonesia, from 2004 till 2009 and from 2010 till 2019 as a Restaurant General Manager for the Pizzeria Express Italiano, Salou, Spain. My work experience includes working in India as well as abroad gave me opportunities to excel as a people’s person & a team leader, pioneering in Guest Relations. Having worked with people from different origins & cultures has enriched my learning as a leader. Currently, I am working as an Estate Manager with Colliers International for DLF’s high-end property in Gurugram.
I have also worked as a Senior Financial Market Analyst –South East Asia for the financial markets with AVA Trade –an online trading company in Israel with Head offices in Dublin, Ireland. This was a Freelancing from home –Part-time project from July 2010 till June 2013. Have also done some freelancing consultancy for Restaurants. My key deliverables as an EAM with the Sun Lake Group of Hotels, Indonesia (2004 – 2009), are listed below:
• Handled Rooms divisions, Facility Management.
• Co-ordinate with department heads to ensure smooth operations,
• Conduct daily briefings
• Conduct monthly business reviews with department heads
• Report directly to the Regional General Manager
