Mourad Melika is an HR Director MENA region of Americana Company who partners with the Americana Brands GM, COO, and CHRO to plan, develop and manage workforce of multiple profiles’ sector of Americana: Growth Brands; 11 Brands in 9 Market since December 2016.
Mourad believes in the role of HR in simply enforcing company policies up from a concept that human resources location is a unique position to craft the culture of a company.
Mourad holds a PhD degree in Hotels Management from Mansoura University; Master of Science in training and development from Helwan University; and he has obtained many certifications in HR and Development from well-known and recognized organizations; he is a certified human resources business partner from HRCI Society of Human Resources Management USA, he is a certified interviewer from DDI Development Dimensions Internationals London, certified assessment centers analyst and certified organization development analyst from Middleearth HR (India) and CAMI Carlton Advanced Management Institute (USA), and he is also certified on Qualified Hospitality Managers from the AHLA Americana Hotel and Lodging Association.
Mourad has some international essay publications and business cases i.e. “Structured Unemployment in Middle East” partnering with Prof Mary Gentile, Founder of GVV Giving Voices to Values approach. The essays are published in Darden School of Business in Virginia University.
He also published a research on QSR supervisors’ competencies assessment in the international tourism and hotel magazine Vol1, 2016.

Within the Americana Group, Mourad supported the foundation of the Cooperative Education System in restaurants sector building liaisons with Helwan University to qualify, accredit, and provide sources of qualified labor for the Americana Brands in Egypt.
He also instructed 4300 health inspectors in Egypt’s Ministry of Health on Food Safety Management Systems and Quick Service restaurants’ Operations. He also partnered with the International Youth Foundation IYF, Baltimore, USA to get his license as a PTS Passport to Success Coach to enable youth in Americana to grow and change behavior to what is the company looking for. He trained a large number of employees on the program and tracked performance progress of them in stores.
Mourad had a role in Americana Egypt Local Brands’ success through his effort in building HR and Development systems of those brands, structuring labor, developing managers, and partnering with the operation team to provide SOPs manuals and systems.
Most recently, Mourad had a role of managing his sector in Americana during the merger and acquisition transitional period in which he played a role in synergizing cultures of old and new management in a time there was no leadership stability in place for the sector because of the drastic changes in structures through which Mourad had the opportunity to show commitment and sense of responsibility acting like an owner. This effort resulted in tangible shifting on different perspectives; employees’ morale, structuring, talents mapping, policies enhancement, company new core values cascading, shifting employees’ paradigm towards performance management system.
Along those years in Americana –from 2003 until now- Mourad instructed a lot of training programs for all managerial levels in company i.e. team building, situational leadership, organization development, hospitality programs, crisis management, communication skills, assessment centers, etc.
Mourad founded the Assessment and Development Centers of Egypt branch and contributed to the assessment of 25 above store level leaders coming from all company brands to endorse their potentiality for promotions.
