While studying Japanese in Osaka for 3 months, I took the opportunity to work in night shift after class in a high-standard French gastronomic restaurant in the reception. Was in charge of the cloakroom, taking table reservation by phone, welcome and guide the guests into the dinning room.
As a class delegate during the first semester, I had the responsability to set up the class rooms for the exam sessions, communicate the exams results to my classmates, ensure the cleanliness of the class rooms at the end of the day and handle the correspondance between the school's direction and my class (mails, class events, official Emails...). The 2017 class, where I belong, is sponsored by Mr.Serge Fehr, CEO from Credit Suisse Genève, who inaugurated the new siege of Credit Suisse in Bel-Air and asked us to participate to this event and to the next projects linked to this new infrastructure.
Certificate of achievement - Seminar "Our Multillingual World : Regional and Global Responses to Linguistic Diversity" In cooperation with the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, the seminar introduces the social and political approach to the study of language and a brief historical overview of multilingual societies, focusing on the Swiss example. Its main topics include the issues raised by linguistic diversity for international relations and international law; the language practices of international organizations; and the role of translation in a global society. With the Global Studies Institute, the selected students discussed problems raised by the use of International English as well as those created by the voluntary separation of dialects into national languages. Students did fieldwork at the International Labor Office and the World Intellectual Property Office in Geneva.
During my Master degree, I chose to focus my researches on the international organization's history. My main focus was to analyze the impact of the rising East-Asian countries in the international scene from the XIX century to our days and to find the archives that witnessed this evolution. These studies brought me to go deeper on my language studies and to begin to study Chinese more deeply and to take Korean lessons as an option during my studies. My final thesis was about the ICRC's action during the conflicts that took place between Japan, Korea and China from the end of the XIX century to the middle of the XX century.
Had the opportunity to make a one mounth summer school to improve effectively my level of chinese (mandarin), to get used with the traditional characters and to learn about the ancient culture that surrounds this language.
