Management intern for the Santa Catalina Island Company, a small island off the coast of Long Beach, California, participating in managing Hotels, Restaurants and Events for my year-long placement/internship year for university. I managed 3 of the company's hotels for 9 months with other interns and employees, and for the last 3 months of my internship I managed the main restaurant, the 'Avalon Grille', most of the time being the only manager present in the restaurant. This gave me a huge responsibility and I am very thankful to be able to say I feel I was able to run an entire restaurant at the age of 21. I also helped to manage events such as the 'Jazz Trax' and the 'Conservancy Ball' in between my main responsibilities, usually helping to participate on my days off or after a shift in the hotels/restaurant.

The work gave me a brilliant insight into the administration side of the workplace. My responsibilities included handling customer orders, accountancy, phone sales, postal orders and clerical duties. The time I spent there gave me a brilliant amount of experience to be able to understand the formalities and roles involved within administrative work.
