Having studied at Hotel Management School Maastricht in The Netherlands made me realize hospitality is one of the biggest treasures we have in this beautiful world. It is about people, caring for each other, safety, feeling welcome, happiness...

My career started at this same school; first as a management trainee and later as junior hospitality consultant. I was able to bring hospitality to other branches than the hotel industry. A total different mindset in a total different environment, but most of the times very much contributing to the product and the way of working (together). But one day, being a junior hospitality consultant, I realized it is important to gain experience in professional hospitality before being able to truly transmit it to others. Where else than in the ‘industry’ that’s all about professional hospitality?! Hotel business. And, in the end, I was being educated to become a hotelier. I realized that was the next step, to aim to become hotelier.

And that's where I found my passion again. After having worked for a preopening-hotel-project in Tetouan -Morocco, one of the greatest hotels in New York City - United States of America and another preopening-and-opening-hotel-project for 5* hotel Pestana Amsterdam Riverside in Amsterdam - The Netherlands, I am now being part of the great and dedicated team of The Dylan Amsterdam, a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member and 5* luxury boutique hotel.

Executive Chef Dennis Kuipers uses only the freshest ingredients for his seasonal menu, which showcases his strict dedication to purity of flavour and presentation.

The PESTANA HOTEL GROUP is the largest multinational group from Portugal in the tourism sector. It is present in 15 countries, has more than 11,000 rooms under direct management, has a global team of 7,000 professionals and is chosen by more than 3 million customers per year.

    The creation of super-hotelier Andre Balazs, The Standard, High Line hotel is a glorious glassy high-rise, with witty minimalist interiors, cheekily exhibitionist bathrooms and unbeatable views over the Hudson. Rising above a former elevated train line that has become downtown’s favorite public park, the hotel is located in New York City’s uberhip Meatpacking District. In September 2016 I started the 1 year Manager-in-Training program within the Front Office department and covered Manager On Duty shifts (I also cross-trained as Housekeeping Manager for 2 months). Accomplishments: Before I got promoted to Manager On Duty and therefore responsible for all Front Office operations when on shift (338 rooms and 30 employees), I trained within the Front Desk, Guest Services, Guest Experience, Concierge and Bellmen teams and was I cross trained as Housekeeping Manager for 2 months.

    Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay in Fnideq, Morocco, an all-pool resort of the Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts Group that opened its doors in September 2016. I was part of the preopening team from November 2015 to June 2016 as a Trainee Rooms Division. I assisted the preopening teams of the Front Office and Housekeeping. I also assisted the Executive Assistant Manager on all operations related tasks. Accomplishments: Having been part of the preopening team, I assisted in and leaded my own projects regarding preparations for having the property and the team ready for the opening of the resort. This existed of implementing and blending the Banyan Tree brand into the Moroccan/regional culture, training new (local) staff to be ready to work within a five star luxury concept, having the back (bone) office organized and all other operational aspects for the Front Office and Housekeeping departments.
