Cruise Tourism Management is a unique, highly innovative undergraduate four-year Bachelor's degree course leading to the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, in the area of business administration of which is almost exclusively taught in English. It is characterized by a student-oriented and innovative culture, involving teamwork, small working groups and individualised coaching, as to prepare graduates for the reality of the business world and for life-long learning.
Subjects in economics and management, tourism and cruise travel, hotel management as well as other supplementary contents equip the students with necessary and extensive knowledge. Moreover, there are also foreign languages, law, mathematics and other important soft skill courses in the curriculum. One integrative component is a one-year internship and a semester abroad which can be completed either at universities or in companies all over the world. The programme equipes students for careers in: cruise companies, travel agencies, incoming agencies or sector specific associations.
The programme features (amongst other didactical highlights):
* A one-year counselling project for external clients and small projects for the university and the city of Bremerhaven, enabling students to develop their civil conscience and social resposnibility
* A tight networking between Cruise Tourism Management and the Institute of Maritime Tourism, as well as the international Cruise Research Society, allows the students have the possibility to participate and learn through research projects and scientific conferences.
