The Senior Security Specialist is responsible for supporting the digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) program within Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The Senior Security Specialist will conduct digital forensics examinations and cyber investigations involving computer intrusions, malicious code attacks, abuse of privilege, employee misconduct, and other anomalous events. The senior security specialist will define and refine DFIR procedures and standards; implement a robust case information management repository; and drive integration of DFIR workflows with existing and emerging security technologies with Parks and Resorts. The Senior Security Specialist develops and implements DFIR metrics, and is responsible for reporting those metrics on a recurring basis. The Senior Security Specialist provides support to the business and staff for security-related issues, monitoring and researching information security incidents to successful resolution. Responsibilities
  • Develops and refines written, detailed, and case-type specific digital forensics examination procedures.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of digital forensics and incident response procedures across the incident response life cycle including.
    • Preparation
    • Identification
    • Containment
    • Eradication
    • Recovery
    • Post-event assessment
  • Responsible for defining and refining the data requirements and information flows necessary to establish a robust cyber investigations and digital forensics examination database in order to leverage lessons learned; develop monitoring indicators; and provide meaningful reporting metrics.
  • Supports the business for security-related issues, and assists in monitoring and researching Information Security incidents to successful resolution.
  • Conducts investigations as requested by Legal, Employee Relations, and Advisory & Assurance.
  • Participates in on-call 24/7 rotation as required.
  • Works closely with the segment Continuous Security Monitoring team to:
    • Ensure detected issues and anomalies are quickly accessed and investigated to resolution.
    • Ensure that indicators of compromise and other relevant findings from forensic examinations and incident investigations are communicated to the CSM team for inclusion in the monitoring program to enhance future detection and response capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Significant experience (5+ years) working in Digital Forensics and Computer Incident Response.
  • Significant experience in managing cyber investigation case information.
  • Strong knowledge of malicious code investigations.
  • Demonstrated expertise with industry standard forensics tools including EnCase, Tanium, Paraben, Blacklight, Internet Evidence Finder, etc.
  • Experience integrating various security information management tools such as Archer GRC and ServiceNOW.
  • Superior writing and communications skills.
  • Strong knowledge in forensic examination of popular operating systems, such as:
    • UNIX (AIX, Linux, HP-UX, Solaris)
    • Windows
    • IOS
    • MAC OS
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Digital Forensics or Computer Incident Response disciplines.
  • Professional digital forensics and incident response qualification or certification.
  • Knowledge of and experience with evidence chain of custody and e-discovery data preservation requirements.
Required Education
  • Four-year degree or greater in field such as Computer Science or Information Technology, or similar field or related work experience (5+).
