The Director, Business Strategy role applies ingenuity, creativity, and analytical skills in identifying, creating, and evaluating negotiation strategies and tactics to advance the affiliate business of Disney and ESPN Media Networks. In addition, the Director plays a critical role in providing long-term strategic planning and decision support for new business opportunities and other key initiatives across the media networks. The role is under the Affiliate Sales and Marketing department which is responsible for domestic distribution and licensing for Disney and ESPN television networks, digital, and on-demand content. Responsibilities
- Lead a team including a Manager and Sr. Analyst to support business and account priorities
- Work with Affiliate Strategy and Sales teams in support of cable and digital content distribution strategies
- Participate in content distribution deals by creating sales proposals, term sheets and financial analyses for new and on-going negotiations
- Conduct analyses of key business drivers, trends and new technologies for new products or strategies
- Develop network-focused analyses for distribution opportunities and areas of competitive advantage
- Have an in-depth understanding of cable industry and competitive landscape for Disney and ESPN assets and assigned accounts
- A minimum of six years of work experience in content distribution or related experience
- In-depth understanding of affiliate agreements, industry landscape and current competitive trends
- Experience managing in-depth analyses and projects from concept to completion
- People Management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master's Degree in related field
