This role is part of the UK Above Property Marketing Team for Marriott Hotels Limited, who collectively are responsible for the revenue generation marketing efforts for the 50+ participating managed hotels, including London, Provincial and Country Clubs properties.
This position is a key member of the UK leadership team and is accountable for providing marketing guidance, direction and strategy for London hotels. Working with the Market Sales Director London, Director of Market Strategy London, Marriott Digital Services and London property Marketing teams to ensure that all areas of overall marketing strategy, branding and execution are applied by the London hotels. Responsible for working with the Director Segment Marketing to ensure the business needs of supported London hotels are considered during national segment marketing activity planning. Supports business demand generation requests for supported London hotels.
This position is accountable for the development and execution of London cluster marketing activity including development of the annual marketing plan, executing advertising campaigns and promotions, and supporting assets and activation packs, for national marketing, and London property marketing activity.
Works closely with the Area Director of Marketing UK & Ireland, Area Sales Leadership Team, Sales Market Director London, Director Market Strategy London, Marriott Digital Services and key above property and property stakeholders including property GMs, and Property Sales, Marketing & PR teams.
Education & Experience
BA Degree in marketing related function or equivalent higher education experience
5+ years progressive work experience in a marketing related role
Hotel or hospitality marketing related experience preferable
Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrates end to end project and marketing campaign management skills, including briefing, planning, execution and analysis of marketing activity
Demonstrates strong organizational and marketing planning skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and marketing plans at once
Demonstrates an analytical and detail-oriented approach to planning, including evidence of marketing planning based on business performance goals, campaign learnings, financial data and industry research
Demonstrates a working knowledge of digital marketing techniques, including but not limited to planning and assessing digital media, including programmatic media buying practices and paid social media, application of social media channels, use of customer communication channels including email, website management
Demonstrate experience of stakeholder management, including managing multiple stakeholder relationships and application of appropriate communication methods across multiple stakeholders
Ability to identify specific action steps, accountabilities and timelines for workload including able to hold self and others accountable for achieving results
Demonstrates a working knowledge of current professional and industry trends, processes, legal issues, technological enhancements for hospitality and marketing techniques, and keeps up-to-date on available resources that can help to better serve customers’ needs
Continuously looks for methods and ways of working to improve organizational performance, output and results of marketing activity
Ability to expresses oneself clearly, concisely and effectively in one-on-one and group settings, both written and verbally, to a wide range of stakeholders, and demonstrate experience in delivering clear, evenly paced presentations to gain consensus on marketing initiatives, using visually engaging content and alternative ways of communicating
Demonstrates an eye for detail and experience of delivering high quality and professional marketing creative, developed both internally and through the use of appropriate agency resources
Demonstrates experience of managing and building successful agency resource relationships, including briefing, assessment of output, account management and financial reviews
Demonstrates experience of team management and development of team members
Acts decisively to recover from mistakes: knows how to develop/propose/initiate solutions and when to involve leader
Gains the confidence and trust of others through their own authenticity, ethical standards and follow-through on commitments
Acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge
