Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square is a Private Residence Club with 53 one, two and three-bedroom residences. 
 
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Hotel Finance and Business Support, North and Central America, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:      
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Fiduciary responsibility  for ensuring the Residential properties are reporting in compliance with the uniform chart of accounts, Accor policies & procedures, HOA documents and hotel management or other contractual agreements with respect to the accounting matters
  • Lead and manage the Residential Finance & Business Support Division, inclusive of specifically managing Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square Accounting department
  • Support the Residential Benefit Company (RBC) to ensure benefit and fee stream reporting is timely, accurate, and maximized, providing guidance where required
  • Participate and contribute in BOD or Developer meetings and discussions responding proactively to owner requests and initiatives within the boundaries of the HMA, HOA, and Strata governance
  • Establish the Corporate Residential annual budget preparation procedures and guidelines
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation of the Property annual budgets, capital budgets and forecasts
  • Continuously manage and support budget and forecast activities and assist Department Leaders are required
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and adherence to a single Residential chart of accounts, payroll and expense dictionary and the function of accounts in order that the Residential property financial and statistical data is accurately and consistently recorded and reported
  • Recommend and assist in the design, implementation, and use of methods and procedures that improve the accuracy of working schedules, labor standards, forecast, plans to assist operational staff
  • Develop and implement and monitor Residential credit and collection procedures and guidelines pursuant to corporate credit policies
  • Ensure cash flow is adequate to meet the standards of the Residential properties
  • Monitor control systems and audit on a regular basis segregating duties for non-compatible functions
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
  • Oversee the financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual reports
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Ensure accurate and efficient monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Review financial performance to recommend alternate strategies and continually improve the effectiveness of the business or financial management
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
  • Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
  • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures; provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • Accounting designation, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.  CPA or MBA preferred
  • 5 years progressive work related experience in multiple areas of accounting and/or capital project management and reporting, financial and/or business analysis, accounting merger/acquisition analysis, HOA management or a related area, with 3 to 5 years of managing teams and/or significant complex projects
  • Senior Leadership experience in accepted accounting practices, budgeting, accounting processes and regulations along with demonstrated knowledge of capital projects management standards and techniques, and GAAP regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of HOA management is an asset but not required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and relevant computer applications required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
