The Rooms Control Coordinator will work in partnership with Revenue Management, Front Desk and other operational departments with a focus on managing the hotel’s room inventory to maximize revenue pertaining to guestrooms.

What are the responsibilities for this position * list non exhaustive *?
  • Ensure the hotel is set up for success by appropriately blocking guestrooms and balancing room types to enhance revenue opportunities over the next 120 days
  • Work with Revenue Management to review straight line availability
  • Ensure inventory across Property Management System (Opera) and Revenue Management System (Ideas-G3) are in balance and take corrective action in the event of variances
  • Block VIPs and Elite members into upgraded room types while allocating the proper number of rooms to be reserved for upgrades performed by the front desk that generate revenue
  • Block Suites and Doubles 2 Months Out
  • Manage Out of Order and Out of Service room’s inventory, following up with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk and updating Revenue Management team
  • Ensure group inventory is managed accordingly, down to the room type level
  • Attend Revenue Meeting
  • Attend Daily Yield Meeting
  • Any task as assigned by Revenue Management or Hotel Leadership team

Basic Qualifications:
  • A reading, writing and oral proficiency in the required language
  • Good personal & professional references
  • Working computer skills and knowledge including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Delphi, Internet, Opera and G3
  • Luxury hotel reservations or front office experienced strongly preferred
  • High school or equivalent education required. College degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience
