About the Role

 

As a Guest Service Agent you will create memorable experiences, delivering exceptional hospitality from arrival through to departure. You will be the warm welcome that greets our guests, the smile that meets their questions and the personal touch that makes their stay.  Specifically, you will carry out the following tasks to the highest standards: 

  • Demonstrate exceptional hospitality to our guest in each and every interaction; check-in through to check-out you’ll show what it means to be welcoming,
  • Be the first point of contact for guest queries and ensure all questions and issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner,
  • Keep your supervisor and colleagues informed by communicating any feedback from guests or colleagues from other departments,
  • Use your knowledge of hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge to demonstrate value to our guests,
  • Maximise room occupancy and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities,
  • Use the correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel’s credit policy,
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation,
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management system,
  • Attend appropriate training courses, and
  • Assist other departments, as necessary.

 What are we looking for?

 

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

 

  • A track record of engaging with guests or customers; in person, by email and telephone,
  • A passion for people, guest services and aspiration for a hospitality career,
  • A degree, diploma or certificate in hospitality, business, hotels or a related field (desirable),
  • Previous experience in a customer service and/or a hotel environment,
  • An ability to work on shift work, inclusive of days, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays,
  • Excellent attention to detail and administration skills, experience with Microsoft Suite and OnQ systems is advantageous, and
  • Australian working rights not limited to less than 12 months essential
