We at RMC are always prospecting for an array of new destinations for our internship program applicants. In line with this and in preparation for the New Year 2022, we are expanding our Cultural Exchange Program to a new program destination – French Polynesia.
RMC is teaming up with a luxury Host Organisation in Tahiti, French Polynesia, a 5-star Hotel part of Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts looking for several interns for positions in various departments. The luxury property is accepting internship applications for the Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Sales & Marketing Departments. JOB DETAILS
HOST: A 5-star Hotel part of Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts in Tahiti
DESTINATION: Tahiti, French Polynesia
PROGRAM: Hospitality & Business Internship
COMMENCEMENT: November, December 2021 / January, February, March 2022
DURATION: 6-months up to 12-months
OPENING: Food & Beverage Service Intern, Bar Intern, Culinary Arts Intern, Front Office & Guest Services Intern, Housekeeping Intern, and Sales & Marketing Intern
ABOUT THE DESTINATION:
Tahiti is the largest island in French Polynesia, the South Pacific archipelago. The island is believed to be the economic centre of French Polynesia, and the Heart & Soul of the South Pacific. The resort is the largest luxury resort in the island of Tahiti, and provides some of the best views of Moorea on the horizon.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE INTERN
- Work in all areas of Food & Beverage Service operations including Bar, Restaurant, Banqueting, Room Service, Sommelier, Conference & Events
- Prepare the room and the tables for the service
- Interact with customers, take, and serve their orders
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Assist in checking and managing stocks and supplies
- Greet visitors warmly; consistently demonstrate high levels of customer service
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance while on duty
- Assist other departments whenever necessary
- Other related duties under the supervision of F&B managers/trainers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF BAR INTERN
- Prepare the room, tables, chairs for service
- Present menus to customers
- Take and serve customers’ orders
- Keep workstation neat and clean
- Assist in checking and managing stocks
- Other related duties under the supervision of Restaurant & Bar managers/trainers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF CULINARY ARTS INTERN
– Assist in preparing food ingredients for hotel guests/customers
– Assist in assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications
– Assist in checking and managing food stocks and supplies
– Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the workstation at all times
– Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance while on duty
– Assist other departments whenever necessary
– Other related duties under the supervision of F&B managers/trainers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF FRONT OFFICE & GUEST SERVICES INTERN
- Perform check-in\check-out procedures efficiently
- Respond to customer queries via phone or email
- Understand all hotel room categories, room rates, packages, and promotions
- Greet & welcome visitors warmly; consistently demonstrate high levels of customer service
- Maintain personal hygiene, cleanliness, and professional appearance while on duty
- Assist other departments whenever necessary
- Other related duties under the supervision of Front Office managers/trainers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF HOUSEKEEPING INTERN
- Maintain rooms and common areas neat and clean according to hotel standards
- Help in organizing the cleaning service schedule according to the occupancy rate
- Assist with other related services: luggage, front office, restaurant, etc
- Greet visitors warmly; consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service
- Maintain personal hygiene, cleanliness, and professional appearance while on duty
- Assist other departments whenever necessary
- Other related duties under the supervision of managers/trainers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF SALES & MARKETING INTERN
- Assist in the management of sales & marketing operations under the supervision of the department manager
- Supporting the team in the planning and execution of the sales marketing campaign
- Creating materials for sales and marketing events or projects
- Preparing proposals and reports
- Generating leads
- Hosting events
- Researching trends, etc.
PROGRAM BENEFITS:
- Visa arrangements (cost shouldered by host organization)
- Arrival support (airport pick up, quarantine facilities, housing arrangement)
- Lodging accommodation (complimentary, usually inclusive of utilities)
- Monthly allowance
- Shared tip or shared service charge scheme
- On-duty meals (3 meals at the staff cafeteria daily)
- Daily transportation (to and from accommodation to work)
- Uniform (provided by host, usually including laundry)
- Personal leave/vacation (usually granted to participants for 12-month internships)
