About us
Opened on 1 October and located on the corner of Sussex and Bathurst Streets, the newly built Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour is 152 modern guest rooms and suites vertically suspended in a prime position. Just a 5-minute stroll to the CBD’s commercial and transport hub, the lively Darling Harbour precinct and the International Convention Centre. Access is easy and fast from Town Hall Train Station — only a short 3-minute walk from the hotel. Guests will unwind in design-led, modern and spacious rooms with the latest technology at their fingertips. With 3 restaurants and bars throughout the hotel, breakfast, lunch, after-work drinks and dinner are all taken care of. Our sleek contemporary spaces are perfect for meetings, private dinners, cocktail receptions or special events, allowing guests to transition effortlessly from 9-to-5, to 5-to-9. And then there’s the spectacular views from our roof-top where guests can make a splash in our Instagram-worthy floating infinity pool.
Your day to day
As a key leader in the business, we want our Maintenance Manager to “run it like you own it” to keep our brand new 152 room hotel fresh, dynamic and functioning! During pre-opening, you''ll be our project manager for all things maintenance and engineering and lead the way in setting up your department and team for success - and we have a lot of tools and resources to support you. Your entrepreneurial spirit will assist you to oversee all aspects of maintenance within the hotel, whilst instilling a sales-minded approach to maintain our asset. Your hands-on, engaging and collaborative leadership style will enable you to develop and support our team, your strong drive for soft and financial results and maintaining brand standards are critical to success in this role. Want variety? You’ll have this on the daily – from leading and supporting the team and managing contractors to attending to guest requests, working on some pretty cool projects, providing expert advice to the senior leadership team, driving preventative maintenance schedules (such as general repairs, basic painting and plumbing) and our sustainability initiatives whilst maintaining workplace health & safety for guests & colleagues.
What we need from you
- At least 4 years’ experience in general building maintenance, engineering and/or construction in a Supervisory or Management related position- Qualifications in Trade e.g. electrician, carpenter, plumber, painter- Guest focused – understanding the worksite is a 24 hour customer based business- Hotel industry experience is preferred but not essential- Ability to lead and develop a team, driving results and colleague engagement- Strong attention to detail, communication and organisational skills- Ability to build rapport quickly and manage multiple stakeholders- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
