We are looking for an experienced and charismatic Assistant Maître d’ to join the team at J Sheekey, part of Caprice Holdings.
J Sheekey is our iconic seafood restaurant in the heart of theatre land in the West End providing the finest fish, oysters and shellfish. The restaurant is vibrant and lively attracting west end shoppers, theatre goers as well as the cast of the nearby theatres meaning that service is always fast paced. Open all day from noon our team deliver engaging, professional and charismatic service to make all our guests feel relaxed and comfortable.
As Assistant Maître d’ you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of service are provided to our guests. You will be responsible for greeting and seating our guests and ensuring that all dietary requirements or special requests are communicated to the Managers, Head Waiter and Chefs. You will be required to liaise with the floor staff, hosts and maître d’ team during service to ensure our customers receive the highest levels of service. You will be required to work shifts on the floor and in the office. When working in the office you will be taking restaurant reservations ensuring the restaurant booking procedures are followed at all times.
We are ideally looking for candidates who have:
• Previous experience in an Assistant Maître d’ role within a busy, high quality restaurant
• A genuine passion for creating an excellent guest experience
• Impeccable appearance, an engaging personality and the ability to remain calm at all times
• The ability to multi task and effectively react to changing guest needs
• Be a natural and confident communicator both face to face and on the telephone
• Be organised and motivated and see tasks through to completion
• Possess an excellent command of the English language
• Be an excellent team player with good administration skills
• Previous experience of online reservation booking systems is highly desirable
• A keen interest in the theatre, arts, current affairs and politics is desirable
