JOB SUMMARY

LBH is looking to appoint a Hotel General Manager on behalf of the owner of one of our privately managed hotels. This hotel is located in the north of England in a national park. The hotel has been established for several decades as a popular country retreat, with a good reputation for food and beverage. It nestles in a village location, close to major cities in the north of England. 20-30 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, conference & banqueting up to 70 persons.

The General Manager's role is to maintain business development and standards across the various service and income streams.
The successful applicant must be able to develop a sound business plan to maximise profitability, customer service and maintain market share whilst looking to develop the offering and competitor advantage. Staff welfare must be prioritised to ensure continuity in recruitment and service standards as well as good staff morale.
The Sales & Marketing strategy must develop the overall revpar, ensuring high occupancy of accommodation whilst maintaining rates and in house conversion of residents.
Analysis of financial data on a daily, weekly basis to ensure the hotel performs commercially and profitably.
Work with the in house management team to establish best practices across all service aspects and maintain a rigorous training and development program for all staff.
The upkeep and management of the property is essential, reporting on the planned preventative maintenance program, recording and compliance.
Working closely with the hotel accountants to report on all aspects of the costs, fixed & variable, profitability of the hotel and detailed forecast analysis whilst overseeing the financial control systems and processes.
The role has to maintain an active involvement within the local community and continue to build strong relationship with local residents, business leaders and hotel customers.
The General Manager will report to the appointed management company and owner. A proactive communication approach is essential to establish a good understanding for all stake-holders keeping all informed of business trends and analysis, customer feedback, staff welfare and detailed forecasts.

Requisitos

The GM must be a superb host, interacting with guests and developing the reputation of the hotel as best in area, striving for top scores across the various guest feedback platforms. An analytical mind is essential to understand and measure the business performance along with a proactive approach to maintaining a presence across social media.
