At The Bear Grylls Adventure guests can conquer epic mental and physical challenges inspired by the world’s greatest adventurer, Bear Grylls.

  

A destination for true adventure lovers, where they will be able to fly, dive, climb, learn the skills for adventure at Basecamp or take on some seriously high ropes.

 

As Retail Supervisor, day to day you’ll run The Bear Grylls Adventure retail store with a fantastic team of passionate Retail Hosts. The shop will be full of great branded items that our guests will want to take home of a memento of their adventure in the attraction. You’ll run the sales floor operation and will be in a guest focused front line role, leading your team of Retail Hosts to ensure they are in the right place at the right time to deliver memorable experiences to all of our guests.

 

 

What will I do?

 

You’ll work with your team to make sure that everything is seamless for guests. You’ll be responsible for juggling many daily tasks including\: organising staffing rotas, accepting deliveries, ensuring the sales floors is fully stocked, cleaned and visually engaging and at key times during the day, you’ll be required to relieve the tills to cover breaks

 

  

You’ll have excellent operational and organisational skills with an ability to identify and deal with priorities. You’ll be able to react quickly to changing needs and challenges with a solution focused approach.

 

  

You’ll support the development new starters and current team hosts by delivering retail inductions and feeding back performance to your Commercial Manager regularly. 

 

 

You’ll do what it takes to make sure your Retail department has its sparkle. You’ll be accountable for ensuring your department meets the brand guidelines. You’ll have confidence in delivering visual merchandising skills.

 

 

More details\:

 

  • Take full accountability of the retail operations at The Bear Grylls Adventure, ensuring that the shop is fully stocked and appropriate orders are placed, ensuring that the Commercial Manager is fully aware of the operational needs and challenges within retail at all times
  • You’ll have a good understanding of how to deliver staffing rotas ensuring all points across the sales floor are covered and individuals are clear on the tasks expected of them.
  • You’ll take daily ownership in the absence of your Operations Manager to lead and drive the team to meet Retail budgets. You’ll actively work with your team to meet your upselling targets and ensure that your Mystery Guest score is consistent.
  • You’ll have an eye for detail and will take ownership to proactively react to changing circumstances in order to drive sales including; weather, seasonal events, sales reports, product sell outs and slow selling lines.
  • Have excellent communication and leadership skills in order to engage and motivate your team and to communicate up to senior leaders about the status of retail in that moment in time.
  • You’ll be confident in delivering on the spot feedback both formally and informally with any matters of poor performance including upselling, service etc; escalating them where appropriate.
  • You’ll champion employee engagement within the team and be a key player in driving and keeping our ‘Wizard Wants to Know’ employee survey alive. 
  • You’ll lead the STAR programme, ensuring your team is recognised for exceptional jobs. 
  • You’ll work with the Commercial Manager to plan for the future, to forecast across the seasonal peaks and make sure there’s a plan.

 

About you\:

 

  • You are a seasoned retail professional with experience of managing teams
  • You have experience in a fast paced retail environment from a busy high street store where you worked as a manager or supervisor or from a similar hospitality or tourism environment

  • You are a strong performer who will relish the opportunity to manage the retail store as if it’s your own
