Sobre el trabajo

We are offering one exceptional candidate the chance to become a Global Data Architect in the Information Management & Enterprise Integration in our Center of Excellence. As an expert resource in our Data Management practice, you will provide best-fit architectural solutions to manage our global data ecosystem; You will work with key stakeholders, business partners, IT counterparts and various Enterprise Architects to define requirements, identify source data, assist with detailed data models, analyze and validate data, troubleshoot data issues, and promote data quality.

Your mission is to become the IT master of our data ecosystem and apply your knowledge to boost our ability to provide data services; that in turn will ensure the fulfillment of global business information needs.

The primary focus of the role is to improve the consistency, timeliness, quality, security and delivery of data while removing unnecessary costs from the complex, fragmented, heterogeneous data architecture.

What are you accountable for?

  • Mapping data sources: An understanding of where data is stored and maintained. Although the application teams are responsible for documenting the details of application data, you must know where data is maintained and accessed.
  • Defining integration views of data: These views will draw together data from across the domains. Some views will use a database of extracted data — others will bring together data in "near real time." You will work with businesspeople and various development teams to identify and model these integrative views and determine the quality of service requirements — data currency, availability, response times and data volumes.
  • Documenting existing data movement: record how data movement is happening. You will be coordinating efforts and fostering consistency while documenting the frequency of movement, the source and destination of each step, how the data is transformed as it moves, and any aggregation or calculations.
  • Designing new data movements: Having documented the status quo — the sources of data and how the data is moved around — you will then look at how this movement can be improved.

What will you need?

  • First and above all, eagerness to work in a dynamic, growing organization, where uncertainty and fast decision making is part of the corporate culture.
  • We seek someone with a master-level education in a relevant IT domain, preferably with focus on Data Management technologies.  Hands-on experience in data modelling, analytics and/or data engineering is desired.
  • You can already talk about concepts like data warehouses, data lakes and the various layers that are needed to deliver business insights. You are willing to grow and become an expert in this domain.
  • Next to concepts, you also have strong technical skills. You have experience with relevant technologies and concepts like SQL, Python, Database, ETL/ELT.   Our technology stack includes S4HANA/BW, Azure Synapse, PowerBI, SAP Analytics Cloud – any hands-on experience with those technologies would be advantageous. At least, we expect you to have the desire and the ability to deep-dive into technology, so you know how to leverage our data to its full potential.
  • You will need to understand how global IT organization work and operate. You will need to understand and adopt our core processes; of course, with a focus on project- and solution delivery.
  • You will need to be a self-starter and be able to keep oversight across multiple conflicting priorities.
  • You are proficient in authoring, editing, and presenting technical documents.
  • Ability to elicit requirements and communicate clearly with non-technical individuals, development teams, and other ancillary project members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • You will report into the senior director Analytics Solutions.

Preferred educational background:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
