JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for managing sales activities required to reach the profit objective while maintaining quality standards.

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales & Marketing

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Job involves working:


under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold)
under variable noise levels
outdoors/indoors
around fumes and/or odor hazards
around dust and/or mite hazards
around chemicals

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal:                   Managing Director, Director of Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, Assistant Food & Beverage Managers, culinary team, Front Office Manager, Reservations Coordinator and all hotel staff

 

External:                  Hotel guests/visitors, civic organizations, meeting planners, media, travel industry, food and wine industry, trade associations, the Owners, vendors, and corporate office personnel including Regional Sales Office personnel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:


High school graduate
1-2 years of luxury hotel sales experience
Compute accurate mathematical calculations
Fluency in English. Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
Computer skill set:  MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to:

Desirable:


College degree
Certification of previous training in computers
Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish
Previous guest relations training
Previous experience in hospitality industry, preferably a 4-5 star hotel
Delphi Software knowledge

 

               

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


The ability to make telephone and personal sales calls on accounts in assigned market areas.  Follow up promptly with appropriate action to support telephone and personal sales calls.
The ability to travel and solicit business designated by the marketing plan and the Director of Marketing.
Responsible for generating hotel bookings for Group, Transient and Catering.
The ability to follow-up on all leads and maintain a good relationship with the RSOs and other Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
The ability to create permanent files for all groups with strong room night potential.
The ability to maintain a system of permanent files for all accounts with strong business potential, in accordance with Hotel standard.
The ability to conduct tours of property with clients.
The ability to negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs.
The ability to evaluate, solicit, sell and confirm business as required to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability.
The ability to qualify prospective leads as to profitability.
The ability to develop data and recommend programs to meets client needs as well as recommend alternate proposals.
The ability to sell all hotel services.
The ability to maintain an effective plan of correspondence.
The ability to report on a monthly basis against plan/goal.
The ability to keep supervisors promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
The ability to coordinate with other Department Heads to ensure quality of guest/group satisfaction.
The ability to contact customers in-house to promote good will and foster additional business, repeat bookings or referrals to other Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
The ability to follow-up on progress of booked business.
The ability to assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase sales activity, volume and profit.
The ability to maintain assigned files in accordance to guidelines outlined in account coverage programs.
The ability to maintain the Sales computerized system (Delphi) in accordance to Hotel guidelines.
The ability to participate in sales meetings and related industry related organizations to represent the hotel and company.
The ability to have a complete working knowledge of the local competition.
The ability to provide input on the local segment of the marketing plan and budget.
The ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times and to conduct personal behavior in a mature professional business manner when representing the hotel or company.
The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
The ability to undertake occasional Management on Duty shifts in the Hotel, which may require an overnight stay in the Hotel and weekend shifts.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.  Use equipment only as intended.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests and residents, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest and resident relations at all times.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.          
Access all functions of computer.
Set up work station with necessary supplies and resource materials.
Prepare, distribute and maintain all corporate, groups, and tour operator contracts.
Answer telephone.
Record messages.
Follow up on immediate assistance requests, from all overflow calls for staff members.
Greet all individuals arriving at Sales & Marketing offices and assist with their needs.
Assist with the compilation of the monthly sales and marketing reports.
Compile lost business report and key account production reports.
Conduct site inspections.
Complete and distribute amenity request forms; follow up on any changes.
Coordinate floral and other vendor amenity requests with authorized suppliers.
Maintain confidentiality and security of specified hotel information, correspondence, reports and files.
Act as an ambassador of Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi at all times
Attend occasional evening and weekend events on behalf of Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi
