Key Responsibilities
• Generating leads, monitoring the offers and maintaining an active
involvement in any follow up to increase conversion in close cooperation
with the key departments and DOS
• Developing key prospect accounts to key accounts through the monitoring
of market share given to the hotel compared to the competition
• Maintaining and developing the production of key accounts through total
account management
• Supporting the development and implementation of the sales strategies for
the hotel
• Ensuring revenue and room night sales goals are monitored and achieved.
• Planning, coordinating and implementing sales/FAM trips with the support
of the DOS/GM/Revenue Manager
• Taking part in commercial meetings on a regular basis and take the lead on
behalf of the sales department in the absence of the Director of Sales
• Using knowledge of the local hotel market to produce sales and maintain
hotel forecasts.
• Supporting the preparation of hotel budget / sales plans in conjunction with
the DOS/GM and Revenue Manager.
• Planning and implementing a goal to ensure that the sales against our
budgeted revenue figures are maintained with the support of the DOS.
• Reviewing client production monthly and agree appropriate actions with the
DOS, Revenue Manager & GM
• Supporting and driving hotel fair market share performance amongst each
unit in the competitive set by reviewing key reports such as hotelligence,
and hotel pace, offering strategy changes when needed with the support of
the DOS/GM/Revenue Manager
• Ensuring that the focus remains on commercial objectives set as part of the
sales plan
• Achieving budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize
profitability
• Creating and implementing sales plans that drive measurable incremental
occupancy, increasing average rates, volume, and food and beverage and
meeting room sales.
• Reviewing monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential
market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and
market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or
exceed established revenue plan.
• Supporting the creation and development of special events and sales blitzes
to showcase the hotel to potential clients.
• Attending trade shows and major market events to promote new business
& increase hotel sales.

The team
• Plan and manage day-to-day sales activities to ensure strategies and
directives are carried out effectively with the support of the DOS.
• Advise management on progress that helps to identify any key performance
issues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts
(example: guests, airliners, wholesalers, travel agencies, ad agencies, local
community groups) in order to produce group business, to include room
sales, food and beverage sales, and event services.

Guest experience
• Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programs, area
attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.
• Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and
coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed
upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
• Maintain open communication with all departments to ensure the best
guest experiences are met, including any key requests, arriving VIP’s and
large groups.
• Promptly follow up and on all account needs and enquiries
• Be familiar of marketing efforts to up sell guests on hotel services, offerings,
and amenities
• Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing
activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate
department on solutions.
• Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local
community, may serve as the hotel representative for media related
inquiries.
• Work closely with the DOS and with key business leaders, officials, and
representatives of local community groups within the city to ensure
constant high-profile exposure for the hotel.
• Effectively communicate any market aspects of the hotel that are
sustainable or “green” and use information to gain new business
opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Regularly meet and exceed assigned revenue goals
• Manage all the major brand requirements, maximize relationships and
sales/RFP opportunities within Marriott.
• Always display strong project management skills including the ability to
manage details through to completion and ensure deadlines are met
• Always display exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation
skills
• Demonstrate the highest standards and ethical behavior and absolute
discretion with sensitive information
• Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement actions
required to achieve functional goals.
