The income tax group is responsible for the preparation and filing of all income tax returns. This generally encompasses 1 federal consolidated return which includes all 600 domestic subsidiaries and information returns for all 300 foreign subsidiaries. The group also files over 500 state income tax returns. The group assists other groups within the tax department (e.g. tax planning, tax provision, audit controversy) with the tasks that reside in those groups and in implementing department objectives.
  • Prepare federal and state returns and related payments in accordance with a tax calendar.
  • Reconcile tax activity to the general ledger and track deferred tax items
  • Assist in audit data gathering and respond to information requests from auditors as assigned
  • Prepare/assist preparation of global items
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of law and developments that affect assigned business area(s).
  • Special projects as assigned (e.g. stock basis tracking, modeling, tax planning initiatives)
  • Project taxable income amounts for estimated tax purposes, provision, and extensions
  • Data collection and analysis (including SAP, Tax Driver, Tax Packages, and Direct Inquiry).
Basic Qualifications
  • 0-2 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with external and internal partners
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter that takes a hands on approach
  • Superior Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in large corporation or similar experience in a large accounting firm with focus on federal and state income tax, preferred
  • SAP experience
  • OneSource RS (tax preparation software)
  • RIA (or similar research
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
Preferred Education
  • Masters in Tax, preferred
  • CPA or equivalent preferred
