Dinner in the Sky can be considered as the world’s most unique dining concept, creating some of the finest private dining, cocktail parties, product launches, wedding receptions, and bespoke event experiences on a global scale. This event can be utilized as a powerful business tool to host exclusive events such as corporate functions, confidential board meetings, product road shows or even radio and television broadcasts.

 

 Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

 

·        To take care of DIS/banqueting stores and follow-up on the equipment stored in a good way

  • To positively contribute to the sales activities within your department/hotel and maximize sales opportunities and to be knowledgeable of company products.
  • To take care of DIS/banqueting stores and follow-up on the equipment stored in a good way

·        To ensure that the mis-en-place is correct to enhance the service timings

·        To coordinate all special bookings, ensuring that DIS/banqueting functions bookings diary is effectively managed, ensuring that guests history card are always updated and constantly used

·        To suggest means and ways of reducing costs without affecting the quality and standards of the Hotel

·        To minimize operating costs by using all equipment and products in accordance with guidelines set and ensure all equipment are turned off at the end of each shift

·        To assist with monitoring and reordering any stores items, minimizing where possible to avoid over expenditure

·        To assist the cost controller in completing the stock inventory

·        Ensure that the dining area is clean, orderly and well maintained, trolleys are well stocked, and side stations in order, chairs, tables are

·        To check back with the clients during their functions, any comments should be forwarded to the Banquet Operations Manager

·        To attend departmental communication meetings, trainings sessions and to ensure that all staff operates in line with the instructions received

·        To report any maintenance defects to the engineering department and

follow-up

·        To conduct a briefing before each function to pass all the information needed to the staff, assign stations, explain the menu, any special requirements for the function


To move into this position you should have

 

·        Tenure in current position minimum one year

·        Minimum 1 years relevant experience in a 5* Property

·        The ideal candidate with no fear of heights

·        Previous experience in a Conference and Banqueting Operation  with high turnover is a must

·        Thorough knowledge of Food & Beverage (Cocktails / Mocktails / Alcoholic Beverage, etc.)

·        Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management would be highly regarded.

·        Completion of the supervisory & Leadership skills training and train the trainer courses experience would be favorable

·        Proficiency in using Computer Operating applications

·        Ambitious, target driven and trend-setting F & B Specialist

·        People management skills

·        Customer focused, Good interpersonal and leadership skills with service excellence and profitability will secure this challenging role

·        Excellent Communication / Correspondence skills

·        Pleasant and Organized personality

·        Partially outdoor work and fit to work 3 shifts (morning, afternoon, night)

·        Multiple language ability, at least 1 European language or fluent Arabic is an advantage

·        Coach/Mentor. Skills to develop those within their team

·        Must be prepared to work additional hours to meet the demands of our business and the clients
