Responsibilities as a Rooms Division Manager:
Focused on (Front Office Management, Housekeeping Management, Reservations & Revenue Management, Lost Prevention Management).
• Oversees overall day-to-day hotel operations as delegated by the
General Manager.
• Participates in the development of short-term and long-term financial
and operational plans for the hotel which support the overall
objectives of the Company.
• Assists General Manager with the execution of marketing, sales, and
operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the
hotel’s business plan.
• Assists General Manager with the monitoring of the performance of
the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction
systems and financial reports. Suggests and implements corrective
actions.
• Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting
ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Suggests and
implements corrective actions.
• Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest
satisfaction. Ensures proper handling of guest complaints.
• Ensures implementation of appropriate technology solutions to
increase customer service and hotel revenues.
• Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the Housekeeping,
Front Office, Security, Sales, Reservations, and Revenue departments.
• Establishes and maintains a pro-active human resource function to
ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage and
benefits administration, and compliance with established labor
regulations.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and
resolving problems.
• Understands the government regulations affecting hotel’s operations,
ensuring hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws,
ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or
municipal authority.
• Ensures implementation of applicable preventive maintenance
programs that protect the physical assets of the hotel.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities of Revenue Management:
• Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel
and manage day to day yield operations. Daily pick-up analysis,
strategy adjustments, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends.
Create and maintain a 13-month rolling demand calendar.
Responsible for assessing, analyzing and pricing group business
strategies.
• Developing pricing strategies in conjunction with the individuality of
each hotel.
• Provide weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and
budget comparisons. Conduct quarterly property performance
review and develop strategic and tactical action if required.
• Manage and oversee strategy for all direct, indirect, OTA and 3rd
party distribution channels.
• Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide summary
report with recommendations to improve long term strategies.
• Responsible for best practice standards to include: competitor
analysis; environmental scanning; market modeling; distribution yield
management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield
management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and
new pricing concepts
• Evaluate performance of distribution partners and contracted rates
(OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc).
• Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means
of delivering business
• Prepare outline for supporting the annual revenue budget process.
