Descripción de empleo

The food runner is responsible for the delivery of the food orders for our guests at the restaurant and bar to the highest standards possible .The food runner has a perfect knowledge of the food offer for the restaurant but also the bar. The food runner should also be able to provide fast, friendly and efficient service, but also covering side duties attached to the position.

Primary Duties:

Must be flexible towards duties and follow the Restaurant supervisor, F&B managers and F&B director instruction’s

Must work following proper steps to ensure compliance with local Health Department Authority

Perform pre-and post-shift work to include stocking of the pass, and any other side duties

Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments.

Polish and verify any silverware, glassware and any equipment used at the pass and buffet

Complete the check list with the supervisor in charge ensuring that side duties are completed accordingly

Preparation and Set-up of the breakfast buffet (AM shift)

Ensure that all the food and beverage offer is in place over buffet and stations labeled accordingly

Maintain the breakfast buffet including juices stations & kids station to the highest standard possible throughout the service

Record temperatures at the dedicated times with the usage of a thermometer into the appropriate log for any cold and hot items ensuring compliance with the local Health Department (AM shift)

Replenish the food every 4 hours ensuring the policy in place

Serve the food to our guests to the restaurant standards

Organize the pass and ticket orders according guest order taking ensuring service flow in terms of delivery

Communicate closely with the kitchen team

Be proactive and communicate with the server any direct guest requests

Ensure that the guest check entered in the P.O.S is accurate prior delivering it

Must be able to inform the guests towards the food offer and explain all menu items and methods of cooking/preparation to the customers if required

Stock and restock of the pass for the department

Good knowledge of the food waste triage

Usage and knowledge of the ORCA machine handling food waste coming from the guests and left over on the trays or trolleys

Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance need (i.e. fridges, coolers, toaster or any others)

Participate in training classes regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines. Comply with all safety and security practices, policies, and procedures.

Communicate with everyone using clear and professional language; and answer telephones using appropriate manner. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others

Prepare and display to the highest standards possible the desserts served in the room service menu

Secondary Duties:

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

Must have minimum of 2 years’ experience in the hotel industry, restaurant department in luxury hotel

Strong knowledge towards food & beverage offer for the restaurant and any other outlets

Food handler certification-mandatory

TIPS training certification

Good organization while running the pass, with orders

Effective Communicator in the English Language, Spanish is a plus

Take ownership and be responsible for own actions, follow directions given by supervisors

Enjoys serving guest

Takes pride in serving others

Typical Working Conditions:

Supporting the restaurant servers by delivering the food with the right condiment’s or silverware for each dish served to guests.

Set-up the breakfast buffet and maintain the food including preparation over breakfast

Removing the breakfast buffet at the end of the breakfast shift ensuring cleanliness of all areas

Ensuring Health & safety and Californian regulation’s for the food temperatures (cold & hot) for all items

Maintaining a good communication at the pass in between the servers & cooks

Perform side duties and preparation of the pass for the service

Ensuring cleanliness of the pass including pate ware and necessary equipment for the service

Perform Side duties following daily checklists

Ensure proper transition in between meal periods

Typical Working Conditions:

Exposed to long Standing

Exposed to natural temperatures with the service in the patio-Aviary or end cap cabanas (hot & cold)

Exposed to cold temperatures accessing the pastry walking cooler or the freezer (ice cream)

Encounters walking towards slippery surfaces (back of the house, corridor or receiving)

Coffee machine

Orca machine

Essential Physical Tasks:

Able to stand up for long periods of time

Able to push, lift, pull up to 50 pounds

Ability to move or push goods on a handcart weighing a maximum of 150 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
