Reporting to the Front Office Manager, our Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring a high level of guest service at all times across the hotel.

What does an Assistant Manager's role entail?

  • Oversee and support the daily operations of Front Office and other departments as required.
  • Acting as a role model while channeling a positive hotel image.
  • A driver of KPIs including guest satisfaction, loyalty sign ups and upselling.
  • Challenge the status quo and continue to grow & innovate in the superior service of our customers.
  • Take initiative to ensure that interactions with our guests are positive and productive.
  • Ensure the each team member feels valued whilst providing guidance and supporting their learning & development.
  • Actively resolve guest requests, complaints and challenges.
  • Assisting with front office activities from check-in to check-out and everything in between; while ensuring all procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain brand standards for both Novotel & Ibis.
  • Support the Front Office Manager in rostering while working within a budgeted payroll.
  • Being responsible for the health and safety of all patrons, guests and staff members.

What are we looking for? 

  • Experience in a similar role or environment, preferably in luxury hotels.
  • Demonstrated ability to ‘surprise’ our guests.
  • Confidence and the ability to approach people to initiate conversations.
  • Time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • High security awareness.
  • Outcome driven approach to performance and results.
  • Experience in Fidelio or Opera PMS, hotSOS.
  • Current NSW RSA and Senior First Aid Certificate holder (ability to obtain).
  • Open manual driver licenses advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays as per business demands.
  • Unlimited work rights in Australia.
