Job Brief

The Accounts Clerk under the supervision of the Assistant Financial Controller and the Area Financial Controller maintains accounts’ standards as defined by Company and Hotels Accounts Policy.



Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for task outside the scope of work described.

 

  • Must be familiar with accounts procedures.
  • Apply and ensure application of standards and procedures set by company and those resulting from the hotel accounts policy.
  • Make sure that all material and equipment made available to the accounts department is correctly used.
  • Participate in preparing the monthly accounts.
  • Make any suggestions to Assistant Financial Controller, which will improve the work in the accounts department.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relation.
  • Performs related duties and special projects assigned.
  • Assist the accounts receivable department in their work.
  • Assist the accounts payable department in their work.
  • Maintain a balanced petty cash float.
  • Assist the Assistant Financial Controller in preparing the monthly accounts.
  • Well- groomed and have a good appearance.
  • Knowledge of excel, word or other computer programs.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Qualification:

  • Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus .


Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.
  • Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.
  • Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports is a plus.


Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures .
  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software .
  • Accuracy and attention to detail .
  • Aptitude for numbers .
  • Ability to perform filing and r ecord keeping tasks .
  • Data entry and word processing skills .
  • Knowledge of compliance with applicable standards, procedures and laws .
  • Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
