The Role of Engineering Manager:

The Engineering Manager works closely alongside the Director of Engineering, ensuring that the maintenance of the hotel reflects the highest standards of the Four Seasons experience and responding to guest inquiries in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

The Engineering Manager oversees all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care and parking areas. This position is also responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of residents and employees.

Main duties and tasks:

Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary.

Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure an efficient department.

Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms, equipment in the rooms and public area equipment’s in a timely manner.

Support the energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.

Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who furnish reliable 24 hour emergency service.

Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact

Ensure meter readings are taken daily on heat, light and review information to evaluate consumption

Maintain asset register for all equipment

Maintain licenses and permits required by local law for all MEP/plant

Actively develop energy conservation program allowing the Residential and Hotel to meet its annual budget targets

Develop close working relations with outside contractors; engaging as needed for common space maintenance and for resident requests

Support the Director of Engineering in:

- The supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.

- Preparation annual maintenance plans and forecasts, managing budget

- Continued oversight and review of reserve study ensuring implementation of strategic plan for all capital reserve expenditures

Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with maintenance of all firefighting equipment in first class order and ensure that emergency procedures are are understood and practiced by all employees according to standards

Maintains a clean and orderly work area and ensures tools & equipment are well maintained and in sufficient supply

Promotes and ensures a safe working environment

Assist with other departmental tasks and duties when needed.

Our Ideal Engineering Manager will have:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering in one of the following fields: Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Management Engineering.

A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role. Previous experience in facility and construction management is required.

Expert technical knowledge of general building maintenance and environmental standards.

Proficiency in using computer equipment, especially Microsoft Office and Autocad 2D.

Strong problem solving skills and ability to multitask and organize tasks in a high-paced environment. Service passion and desire to deliver the highest standards of service.

The ideal candidate is a motivator and has great interpersonal skills.

Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language.

Legal right to work in Italy.
