Retail Internship

Location: London Headquarters, UK

Reports to: Head of Sales UK

Contract: Full-time, 12-month position, starting March 2023

Your role @Chanel

Be the first point of contact for Retail by working closely with the Head of Sales, to support the Commercial team (both Field and Head Office based) as well as the Commercial Director. In addition, to make it a priority to learn about the UK Domestic market by collating all necessary facts, figures, and insights. Examine and analyse the market in-depth to gain a full understanding of the Fragrance and Beauty marketplace.

What impact you can create at Chanel

• Take charge of the Retail Team sample inventory; order and distribute to stores as required / on request
• Assist in the creation Retail Animation Packs to brief store teams on events
• Assist in the execution of in-store events where necessary
• Assist in the compilation of reports following event execution
• Support the Field Team with samples / tools to enable in store event execution
• Under the guidance of the Retail Team, assist in the creation and production of the brands in-store activity plans and distribution of consultant incentives with the overall goal of helping inspire and motivate the retail staff to result in the driving of retail sales
• Assist in the day to day admin to support the Commercial Team

• Researching market trends to help with analysing brand data and pulling out brand trends
• Having authority over your own work and responsibilities, planning adequately to ensure these are delivered monthly / weekly to the Head of Sales and the Commercial Director
• Attention to detail, ensuring care is taken over your work and that figures are sensor checked before being confidently delivered to the wider head office teams
• Being part of a team and working collaboratively with others
• Sharing your voice and challenging processes where you feel elements could be simplified or adapted

What you will bring

• Knowledge from your degree in related field
• A keen interest in the Beauty and Fragrance Industry
• A strong working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint with proficiency in MS Office
• The ability to plan, prioritise and take authority of your own work
• A responsible attitude, being able to work independently as well as within a team, showing initiative and enthusiasm for everything you do
• Good planning, organisation, and communication skills
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail
